OWS library / by Michael Lorenzini

I stopped by the Occupy Wall Street protest in Zuccotti Park for the 1st time in early October and found that they had their own community library.   From my Library School 701 class I learned what the 3 conditions necessary for the development of libraries are:  I guess this means they have a centralized population, economic development, and political stability. It is really quite extensive at this point and even has a children's section. They have 4 librarians, one of whom is apparently a trained librarian, the others were all grad students of various majors. They are looking for book donations and volunteers. And of course they have a website and Facebook page: http://peopleslibrary.wordpress.com/ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Occupy-Wall-Street-Library/215569408506718
